When things are falling apart, they may actually be falling into place; we just don't know it yet!
Five years ago, I was working at a world-class addiction treatment center. I had become frustrated that I could not teach what I believed to be the critical missing piece to recovery and awakening. And then, I was fired!
"And, when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it." – Paulo Coelho, The Alchemist.
To the Universe – HELPING means ALIGNING US with our deeply held desires.
The Universe forced me to make a change in a new direction even though I didn't know the firing was in my betterment because I perceived rejection and embarrassment from the event.
I, however, knew the One Power (God- Love) knows my heart, and IT didn't bring me all this way for nothing. So I decided to trust The Universe, confront my fears and take a risk because the last thing I wanted was regrets down the road.
It wasn't a rejection – it was redirection.
“Growth requires us to leave something behind. It can be habits, careers, beliefs, even people. Make space for grief in the process of growth. You have to mourn your former life to make room for a newer you." -Tristan Thompson.
I pivoted and immediately began my "Trauma-Informed Awakening/Recovery Coaching" business. Here I am 5 years later, with clients all over the globe, a book called "Mistaken Identity: A Sacred Journey from Addiction to Awakening with 5-star reviews on Amazon, appeared on many podcasts, spoke at conventions, inspired others, and working on my second book but most importantly I get paid to do what I love – serve humanity.
It would still be just a dream had the Universe not aligned with my big heart and fired my sorry ass. The firing was the best thing for my spiritual awakening and living my best life – go figure!
I hope my post will inspire others who are on the fence about what they desire in their lives:
Choose creativity over certainty.
Choose courage over fear. Choose trust over doubt.
And you will be living amongst the gods.
Be careful what you pray for, Paul Noiles
PS: We haven’t really lived until we get fired.
